Band Books
Accent on Achievement
Once again, we will be using the Accent on Achievement Method Book for all of our band classes.
We have had great success using this book.
Why do we use this book?
From a music standpoint, band is an opportunity to:
- Develop as a player on a chosen instrument.
- Change to another instrument of need at MVMS (if interested)
- Prepare for all band levels at MVMS.
The Accent on Achievement Books will help with the following:
- Develop basic concepts related to a chosen instrument.
- Learn new notes, scales, rhythms, phrasing, musical concepts, and theory.
- Practice and learn a variety of band arrangements.
- Prepare for our performances throughout the year.
Below is the book we will use for each band class:
- All 6th grade students: Accent on Achievement Book 1
- All 7th grade students: Accent on Achievement Book 2
- All 8th grade students: Accent on Achievement Book 3
There are many way to obtain the book. We will start using the books immediately.
We ask that you try and have these books by no later than the beginning of September.
